ACE Logistics Group’s new logistics terminal is under construction near Kaunas Free Trade Zone. The construction of the terminal, which started at the end of September last year, has reached an important milestone – a symbolic completion wreath has been placed on the roof of the building.
Nerijus Tamašauskas, Managing Director of “Mapri statybos”, says that all work is progressing according to plan and expects the subsequent phases of the construction project to be completed in the similar smooth and timely manner.
“A 4,000 square metre terminal with a total investment of around 7 million EUR is a significant project for any construction company, and we are very pleased that ACE Logistics has chosen us to carry out these works. We are doing our best to justify the trust placed in us and, using all our experience, knowledge and professionalism, we are striving to ensure that all the works are carried out flawlessly and on time,” says Tamašauskas, adding that the new terminal is scheduled to be completed by the autumn of this year.
ACE Logistics’ new terminal near Kaunas is not the only one in Lithuania – the company already operates one logistics centre in Vilnius. The new state-of-the-art ACE Logistics terminal, which will also house office spaces, will have 40 loading docks and special loading bridges for vans and cargo trailers.
“As part of ACE Logistics Group’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and developing sustainable transport solutions, the new terminal is being built with environmentally sustainable materials, integrating energy-saving systems, renewable energy sources and electric vehicle charging stations.
“The new logistics terminal with 40 loading bays will significantly increase our handling capacity and reduce transit times. This will contribute to greater service efficiency while ensuring even greater customer satisfaction with our logistics solutions. The terminal has been designed with higher cargo volumes in mind for the future, which will allow us to plan more confidently for the development of our logistics services,” says Juana Kudarauskienė, Managing Director of ACE Logistics UAB.
Andres Matkur, Managing Director of ACE Logistics Group, echoes this sentiment, saying that the road freight market is showing growth trends, driven by increasing demand for efficient transport solutions and ongoing infrastructure changes such as the Rail Baltica project.
“With Lithuania’s GDP forecast to grow by 3.1% this year, the logistics sector is expected to be boosted by increased economic activity and demand for regional transport. This outlook highlights the important role of road freight services in facilitating trade and economic development across the Baltic region,” says A. Matkur.
J. Kudarauskienė adds that the location of the new terminal should also contribute to its efficiency.
“As the new terminal is located next to Kaunas LEZ, which is already home to one of the largest industrial and logistics parks of its kind in the Baltics and a number of world-renowned companies, ACE Logistics sees and will try to exploit potential synergies and cooperation opportunities,” emphasises the Managing Director of ACE Logistics UAB.
